* White-ground kylix (wide-bowled drinking cup), found in a tomb at Delphi. Work of anonymous Athenian vase-painter. On white ground Apollo is depicted crowned with a wreath of myrtle-leaves, seated on a stool (with legs in the form of lion-paws) and dressed in white peplos and red himation draped over his left shoulder. His left-hand fingers touch the chords of his lyre, while with his right hand he offers libation, pouring wine from a navel- phiale . The black bird accompanying Apollo is probably a crow, recalling his mythical love for the beautiful Aigle-Koroni , the daughter of king Phegyas . (480-470 BC)
* This is one of my favourite museum pieces I have seen in my trips around the world.
* Phocis, Central Greece, Ελλάδα
