Construction on the present church began in 1903.
St. Mary’s Church is the tallest and largest wooden church in North America. 58 meters (190ft) long and 56 meters (135ft) wide. The spire is 56 meters (185ft) tall.
40 tons of rock have been placed in the steeple to act as ballast. Church Point, Nova Scotia, Canada
