GIGANTICKÁ Fotografie + English: DSC00369 – Port Bickerton Lighthouse (Taken on May 18, 2018, Sony ILCE-6300)

Bickerton was settled in 1840 by fishermen from Peggy's Cove. Although Bickerton Island was settled first, the area surrounding the lighthouse was settled soon afterwards.
The first of three lighthouses was constructed in 1901 on west extremity of Barachois Head. The lighthouse was replaced in 1924 by a temporary light and then in 1930 a combined light and keeper's dwelling was built, which still remains at the site
In 1962 the present lighthouse was built, a square white concrete tower, attached to fog alarm building.
