GIGANTICKÁ Fotografie + English: This new image from the Wide Field Imager (WFI) on the MPG/ESO 2.2-metre telescope at the La Silla Observatory in Chile reveals a cloud of hydrogen and newborn stars called Gum 41. In the middle of this little-known nebula, brilliant hot young stars emit energetic radiation that causes the surrounding hydrogen to glow with a characteristic red hue.

  • Česky: Tento nový snímek pořízený na observatoři ESO/La Silla pomocí dalekohledu MPG/ESO s primárním zrcadlem o průměru 2,2 m vybaveným kamerou WFI (Wide Field Imager) odhaluje oblak vodíku nesoucí označení Gum 41. Uprostřed této málo známé mlhoviny produkují mladé, horké a jasné hvězdy množství záření s vysokou energií, které nutí okolní vodík zářit charakteristickým odstínem červené barvy.
