- Tahai has three ahus, a flat mound or stone pedestal upon which the moai stand they are about 1.22 metres (4ft) high. This is Ahu Vai Uri with 5 moai. The statues here and all over the island were carved to commemorate important ancestors.
- I am a lucky man, I have seen so much of the world, survived cancer three times and have two wonderful kids and 5 grandchildren. This corona virus has really cramped my style, hope it ends soon as my travelling days maybe coming to an end - nothing, wrong just - when is enough, enough. If I do get to South Africa, I may then just concentrate on the greatest country in the world, CANADA. Just sitting here thinking but who really knows what tomorrow brings, LOL, enjoy each day and be thankful for the good things in life.
- Was scheduled for South Africa, Swaziland (Eswatini), Zimbabwe and Zambia, May 8 but trying for August 28 but doubt it will happen then - all paid for but wait and see, trying not to cancel and go through insurance..
