- Municipal House in Prague is the city's foremost Art Nouveau building, and one of the finest in Europe. Municipal House opened in 1912, it was constructed on the site of the former Royal Court Palace.
- The Powder Tower use to be a gate to Prague in the middle ages. It was built in a ditch around the town´s ramparts, about 9 meters below the present ground. The future kings of Bohemia used to enter the town through this gate when they were on their coronation parade. The Old Town Bridge Tower and the Powder Tower are the only existing parts of the former Prague Old Town fortifications.
- The Powder Tower bears its name because gunpowder used to be stored there since the 18th century. The tower was damaged by the Prussian army artillary in 1757.
